How to Obtain a Medical Marijuana Card in Connecticut

If you’re a Connecticut resident and are 18 years of age or older, you’re eligible to apply for a medical marijuana card for treatment. You must have one of the conditions noted above to qualify. New conditions are added to the list on a regular basis. Your doctor will review your medical condition and issue a statement indicating that you qualify for medical marijuana.

How Do I Apply for a Medical Marijuana Card?

After you’ve seen your doctor, you’ll need to go through the registration process.  Keep in mind, however, that the physician must initiate the process — you cannot initiate it yourself. You’ll complete the application process after your doctor has completed their portion of the application.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the three easy steps to take in the state of Connecticut to get your medical marijuana card:

  • Step one: See your doctor and get the required documentation for your condition.
  • Step two: After your doctor electronically submits the documentation you may then access an online system and complete your portion of the application. If you require a primary caregiver, they must also complete their portion.
  • Step three: Pay a $100 nonrefundable application fee for the card and wait for your card to arrive.
