Hemp Flower or Cannabis Bud, Is There A Difference marijuana doctors

Only the female hemp plant creates a bud or flower.  When the hemp flower reaches full size and maturity, it has a high level of cannabinoids and resin.  This is meant to attract pollen from male hemp plants, and then produce seeds.

Quality hemp flower is extracted before the female plant develops seeds.  This is at the time that the female hemp plant is at the highest level of potency for cannabinoids.  Like marijuana cannabis varies in terms of potency for THC, hemp plants also vary by strain.  Hemp buds grow in clusters that are called colas. They

Some types of hemp strains have higher levels of cannabinoids and terpenes that can provide wellness benefits. Other hemp species have lower levels of cannabinoids and may be cultivated for fibers.  There is a strong commercial market for hemp fibers in clothing, household goods like natural linens, cooking oils, and other products.

Hemp Flower is legal to buy and sell in 50 states (at the time of writing).  The broad-spectrum hemp flower is high in fatty acids, proteins, vitamins terpenes, and CBD. Like marijuana, hemp flowers can vary in size, density, and color.

Hemp Flower May Help You Quit Smoking

Hemp flower cigarettes can be purchased at a dispensary and online retailers like Amazon.  Since the THC content of hemp is low (and below legally required limits) you do not have to have a marijuana card to buy them.

Some hemp cigarettes (many are manufactured in Colorado) look like a pre-roll.  Some use Raw bleach-free cones.  They come in a package that looks just like a package of cigarettes. But they do not have all the harmful chemicals found in tobacco products.

Flower cigarettes have helped some people successfully step-down from nicotine addiction.  While there are still some chemicals inhaled with vaporized hemp (including the rolling paper) by comparison, hemp cigarettes are less toxic.  And the experience is the same for smokers, so they don’t miss the ignition and inhale habit.

Hemp Flower Can Promote Relaxation and Help With Anxiety

When certain strains of marijuana are consumed, a feeling of relaxation can follow.  The same is true for hemp (but without the psychoactive or intoxicating effects of THC).  Many people find that CBD oil is an effective holistic remedy for anxiety or insomnia.  Smokable hemp flower can have the same effect.

The flower contains a variety of phytocannabinoids including cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabigerol (CBG).  While not as strong smelling as marijuana, hemp flower can have a potent smell too.  This is because of the presence of terpenes and flavonoids in the flower.

Hemp Infused Creams for Topical Pain Relief

Another exciting holistic use of hemp can help reduce inflammation and pain for individuals with arthritis.  A 2016 study from the University of Kentucky revealed that CBD could provide effective topical therapy for arthritic inflammation.  The study tested the effects of transdermal CBD gels that o reduced joint swelling.  Patients in the study experienced no side-effects and reduced pro-inflammatory biomarkers.
