Colorado Medical Cannabis Program Details for Patients

CO Marijuana Legislation: Approved Nov. 7, 2000 by 54% majority rules by Colorado residents. Effective as of June 1, 2001. Amendment 20 removes state criminal penalties for the use, cultivation and possession of medical cannabis. Colorado patients who possess a Colorado cannabis recommendation from their physician affirming that he/she suffers from a debilitating condition and advising that they "might benefit from the medical use of marijuana" may also obtain cannabis from a licensed wellness center. CO Cultivation Regulations: A patient who has been issued a Colorado Medical Marijuana Registry identification card may possess no more than 2 ounces of a usable form of marijuana and no more then 6 marijuana plants, with 3 or less being mature, flowering plants that are producing a usable form of medical cannabis.

CO State Program Fee: $35 payable to the state of Colorado after the doctors has issued a certification.
