Animal Mints is an Indica-dominant strain that’s much-loved for its sweet scents and flavors that contain hints of nuts, cookie dough, vanilla, and mint.

With lime green colas coated with icicle trichomes, this strain is quite fluffy and adhesive to the touch. When fully mature, Animal Mints buds exhibit shades of green, orange, and purple in a gleaming layer of trichomes. These characteristics in Animal Mints are indicative of a strong hit.

Animal Mints Origins and Genetics

Animal Mints is a unique hybrid of Animal Cookies with a cross between GSC (Girl Scout Cookies) and Blue Power. This strain was first bred by the masters over at Seed Junky Genetics in Southern California. Animal Mints’ THC potency has reportedly ranged from as low as 15% to as high as 32%.

The terpene profile of Animal Mints contains high amounts of beta-caryophyllene and camphene, which have antioxidants and antibacterial properties. It also has alpha-pinene, limonene, and beta-myrcene in it, which help with inflammation, mood enhancement, and reducing stress.

Animal Mints Strain Effects

Indica strains like Animal Mints produce a strong body feel after ingesting. It induces calm and relaxation, which make it perfect for treating insomnia and anxiety. Additionally, it’s beneficial at reducing chronic pain, depression symptoms, muscle spasms, and situational stress.

Once you smoke Animal Mints, you’ll notice it quickly causes a cerebral feel before settling into a full-body high. It’s mood-enhancement properties uplift users’ moods and create a euphoric, if sleepy, effect. The potential for couch-lock is strong with this strain, so be sure you don’t have anything important to do after you toke up.

Animal Mints is ideal for unwinding after a long day at work, catching up on some sleep, or having a chill hang-out session with friends. No matter what environment you choose to partake in, you’re sure to enjoy this vibey strain. Be advised, however, that it’s a strong and potent strain, so start with a small dose if you’re not used to it.

Growing Information

Animal Mints is best grown by people with some experience cultivating their own marijuana. It boasts impressive yields of up to 600 grams per square meter of plant indoors or up to a pound per plant outdoors, making it well worth the effort you put into it.

It thrives in warm, humid environments, more so than many other strains. It’s mold-resistant but susceptible to pests, so it’s a good idea to implement pest control policies before there’s a problem. It grows to heights between 5 and 6 feet and takes about 10 weeks to reach the flowering stage.

For best results, use a soil blend containing coco coir, but this plant also does well in hydroponic environments. It likes plenty of food and nutrients as well. Topping it off at least once or twice during the growing stage will help to ensure it reaches its full potential.

If you’re planning to grow Animal Mints outside, the best time to harvest is late September.
