One of the most critical steps in registering patients in the Rhode Island medical marijuana program is a mandatory health evaluation. While medical cannabis can be an effective and safe alternative for symptom management, a health review helps improve patient safety.

During your health evaluation, our US Med Card Rhode Islandphysician will review your current diagnoses. The doctor will also discuss your present symptoms. If you have severe chronic pain, they may ask you to complete a pain inventory to better understand your pain symptoms’ duration and frequency.
At the end of your medical marijuana card health evaluation with US Med Card Rhode Island, if the physician feels that cannabis may be a safe therapeutic option for you, a recommendation letter will be issued. This certifies that the physician did not find any reason to deny your request based on your current health condition(s).
