Thanks to Compassionate Care legislation and Act 16 (signed into law in 2016) patients living with qualifying health conditions can become registered in the PA medical marijuana program. Patients who want to get their Pennsylvania medical card online can schedule a telemedicine appointment with Amazing Grace Medical Center.

How Do I Get My Medical Marijuana Card in Pennsylvania?

There are four steps patients need to complete to apply for a Pennsylvania medical marijuana card online. Because Pennsylvania allows telemedicine appointments, you can start and complete your application online.

Patients will need to:

  1. Register on the Pennsylvania Department of Health (Medical Marijuana Program) website. You will choose the Adult Patient application if you register yourself. Individuals who are registering as a caregiver have a separate application process. You will be asked to create a username and password.
  2. See an approved practitioner and get certified. You can schedule an appointment for your medical marijuana health evaluation with our team at Amazing Grace Medical Center. We provide telemedicine (online) appointments. If you meet the criteria and our physician feels that medical marijuana could provide a safe therapeutic benefit, you will be certified.
  3. Return to the Department of Health website and pay for your medical marijuana ID card. The fee is $50. Residents of Pennsylvania who are participants of Medicaid, PACE/PACENET, CHIP, SNAP and WIC may qualify for a discount on their medical marijuana card.
  4. Receive your medical marijuana card in the mail. Then you may proceed to a medical cannabis dispensary to learn more about products to help you reach your wellness goals.

What Happens if I Do Not Get my Medical Marijuana Card?

If you do not meet the eligibility requirements and you are declined during the application process, the Amazing Grace Medical Center will refund our evaluation fee. If you don’t get your card, you don’t pay. If you are a patient or a caregiver who has been denied a PA medical card, we may be able to help you appeal the decision with the Department of Health.
