This private practice provides comprehensive medical marijuana evaluations and certifications for eligible patients seeking an alternative treatment for their current medical condition(s). Patients will be seen by either Dr. Charles Weng or one of the practice's certified nurse practitioners, who are state approved certifying medical practitioners registerered with the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC). Dr. Weng is exceptionally experienced in evaluating patients for medical marijuana treatment. He started seeing patients almost 4 years ago after Maryland became the 21st state to legalize medical marijuana in 2014. He has wealth of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a diverse number of medical conditions and ailments. 

The doctor will determine whether or not the use of medical cannabis may be beneficial and if its advantages outweigh any potential risks, the patient will be issued a written certification or recommendation. At Baltimore Progressive Compassionate Care, patients are provided with compassionate and personalized care

Prior to seeing the doctor, patients must apply on the MMCC Registry website and obtain an approval email from the state with their MMCC Patient ID Number. The doctor will need the Patient ID Number in order to issue the written certification on the same day of the initial visit.

Pre-Visit Requirements

  1. Must be 18+ years old. 
  2. Any person who lives in Maryland can participate in the program. Any of out-of-state resident who is in Maryland for the purpose of receiving medical care can be issued a written certification and obtain medical cannabis.
  3. Must have a qualifying medical condition or diagnosis that has been documented by one of your physicians as proposed by the Maryland Department of Health.
  4. To expedite the process of becoming a legal patient, be sure to register with the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC). In order for the physician to issue a written certification permitting the legal purchase and use of the medicine, you must receive an approval letter with your assigned MMCC ID Number via email from the MMCC. 
  5. Please bring your MMCC ID number with you to the appointment. 
  6. The Discount Price of $175.00 is appliable to all VETERANS, SENIORS, and patients receiving SSDI (on disability) benefits.

The office is in northeast Baltimore near Rosedale, Parkville, Overlea, Middle River, Carney and Essex, Perry Hall. Dr. Weng also has additional office locations in Towson and Havre de Grace. 

Charles Weng M.D. has been practice for over 20 years, specializing in Internal Medicine. Over the last several years, Dr. Weng has become a knowledgeable resource for patients exploring naturally therapeutic alternatives such as medical cannabis, and CBD (cannabidiol) products that have minimal, if any psychoactive effects. Dr. Weng was one of the 1st physicians in Maryland to see patients suffering from chronic and/or debilitating medical conditions, looking to legally use medical cannabis to treat their current medical condition(s) and/or ailment(s), especially if traditional modes of therapy have proven to be ineffective.
