  • Medical Marijuana Doctors in Palmdale, CA

Just starting out as a potential MMJ patient in Palmdale, Calif.? Medical marijuana is pretty simple to get as long as you know what to do. We’ll tell you all you need to know to get your “green card” and find natural relief.

Do I Have a Chance at Getting California MMJ?

California’s medical marijuana laws look at your health from a few perspectives to determine if you can get MMJ treatment.

First, it lays out some disorders that can qualify:

If the person doesn’t have any of those issues, they could also become an MMJ patient if their condition makes it hard to do any of the following basic activities:

    • Eating
    • Caring for oneself
    • Breathing
    • Learning
    • Concentrating
    • Performing manual tasks
    • Walking
    • Sleeping
    • Reading
    • Thinking
    • Bending
    • Seeing
    • Standing
    • Lifting
    • Speaking
    • Communicating
    • Hearing
    • Working

If the patient doesn’t fit into either of those two categories, a doctor can still recommend MMJ for them if their illness puts their health or safety in danger — but you’ll still have to be approved by the state.

    Signing Up for California MMJ

medical marijuana card. Rather than working with the state, you will have to submit it to your county’s relevant office.

    A finished application consists of:

    • The state’s official registration form (English versionSpanish version)
    • A valid form of ID
    • Proof of residency for the county you submit to (utility bill, rent receipt, etc.)
    • A written authorization from your physician
    • A registration fee that depends on the county you live in

To get permission from your doctor, you need to schedule an appointment with them and talk about it in person. They can write you any sort of note that clearly states they recommend MMJ for one of the medical reasons mentioned in the previous section. There’s also a form that the state made that you and your doctor can use, but it’s not required (English versionSpanish version).

How to Use a California Medical Marijuana Card

To get medicine using your MMJ ID, visit a growing collective or dispensary. Just make sure to keep under an ounce of bud or less than eight grams of concentrate so you don’t exceed the state’s possession limits.

We advise patients from out of the country to take caution when traveling with their medicine and documentation — since marijuana is federally outlawed, some officials have used it as a reason to deport people, according to NORML.

You might not have to look too far to find a doctor to recommend weed for you — any doctor can, so you can ask the physician you already see. However, keep in mind that not every doctor likes to use MMJ for their patients. If you need to find a doctor who does, we’ve got you covered.
