Pro Medical Pot “Uncle Luke” Running for Miami Mayor

Last week, Delaware made history by becoming the 16th state to pass medical marijuana laws, in large part because the state’s congress members as well as the governor know the benefits of this valuable medicine. And as our company’s CEO Jason Draizin said, “Getting people who understand the medical and economic benefits of marijuana into leadership positions is a key element to the progress of cannabis in our country and overturning the prohibition on pot.”
That’s exactly why we’re endorsing Miami-Dade County Mayoral Candidate Luther Campbell. Known to most as Uncle Luther from 2 Live Crew, Campbell is our pick for next weeks election. Campbell is running for Mayor in Miami-Dade County because he believes the area deserves a Mayor who will focus on the issues that are most important now: protecting Jackson Hospital and The Public Health Trust, creating jobs for county residents, rolling back the county property tax increase and making Miami-Dade County government work for the people. And he is a firm believer that Florida, like many other states, can benefit from the passing of medical marijuana laws.
“Sixteen other states have legalized medical marijuana, and when you consider the economical impact of it and the fact that medical marijuana is a billion dollar industry, it makes all the sense in the world,” said Campbell. “If its helping people, if it’s helping stimulate the economy, then I’m all for it. It’s a bold issue but I think that it will definitely benefit Florida.”
