Miracle-Grow Wants to Help Grow Your Weed

The medical marijuana industry’s profits are growing like weeds, and the famous weed-killer brand Miracle Grow wants in on it. The Wall Street Journal reports that Scotts Miracle Grow is turning its attention to cannabis growers in an attempt to grow it’s own profits.
In an interview, Scotts CEO Jim Hagedorn said straight up: “I want to target the pot market.” Clearly he has recognized the booming industry’s potential.
According to See Change Strategy LLC, an information data services company, the medical marijuana industry will reach a whopping $1.7 billion in sales this year. According to Hagedorn, his company will get in on the action by buying niche dirt companies that medical marijuana growers already use and have an affinity for.
Seems like a more logical route than creating a new line or attempting to market Miracle Grow to marijuana growers, which has mixed reviews for its effectiveness on cannabis growth. But considering that marijuana is somewhat of a miracle drug, perhaps Miracle Grow is an apt match.
