  • Nevada medical marijuana patients are allowed to grow marijuana plants at home as long as they follow certain rules. However, anyone living within 25 miles of a dispensary cannot grow their own cannabis unless they are given a special exemption or they are growing a specific strain that is not available through the nearest dispensary.
  • On Nov. 8, 2016, voters in Nevada passed Ballot Question 2, aka the Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act, which legalized recreational weed in Nevada for adults 21 and older.
  • On Jan. 1, 2020, Nevada made it illegal for employers not to hire job applicants based on the results of a marijuana test.
