Medical Marijuana and Rosacea

What Is Rosacea?

Rosacea is best defined as a chronic inflammatory-based skin condition that primarily tends to affect adults. This condition causes redness in a patient's face and is capable of producing small, red, pus-filled bumps or pustules. If left untreated, rosacea tends to be a very progressive condition that eventually will become worse over time.

Medical Marijuana and Rosacea

Most cases of rosacea are cyclic, and signs of this condition may flare up for a certain period of time whether it is weeks or months, and then may diminish again before flaring up. Besides acne, rosacea can be mistaken for many other skin problems such as eczema or a skin allergy. Although this condition does not currently have any cures, treatment methods can control and reduce the signs and symptoms that are directly associated with rosacea.

Medical marijuana is a great reducer of the symptoms that are associated with this particular condition. Due to cannabis serving as a great middle man to ease blood flow and maintain properties of an anti-inflammatory, this alternative treatment method could directly alleviate any signs and symptoms that patients may experience. Each patient however is different, so please consult with your doctor whether or not this is the proper treatment option for you.
